Bal Bhawan School, Bhopal, was established on 1st July 1975 by (Late) Mrs. Champa Ramakrishnan with a vision to create an institution that would combine academic excellence with strong moral values and holistic development. Nestled amidst the scenic surroundings of Shamla Hills, the school began its journey with a commitment to nurturing young minds through meaningful education, discipline, creativity, and character building.
Over the last five decades, Bal Bhawan School has grown from a modest educational initiative into one of the most respected and admired educational institutions in Bhopal.
The school’s identity is deeply connected with its rich heritage and legacy. A part of the present campus building dates back to the early 1900s, when the erstwhile ruling family of Bhopal moved to Shamla Hills. Surrounded by natural beauty and historical significance, the campus today proudly stands as one of the few heritage educational institutions of the city, often recognised as the “Heritage School of Bhopal.”
A major milestone in the institution’s journey came in 1979, when the management was taken over by (Late) Mrs. Mahabano Ali, followed by (Late) Mr. Farooq Ali. Their dedication, foresight, and unwavering commitment laid the foundation for the school’s steady growth and strong reputation. In 1995, Mr. Omar Ali assumed leadership and ushered in a new era of modernization, innovation, and academic expansion.
Under his guidance, the school strengthened its infrastructure, embraced progressive teaching methodologies, integrated technology-driven learning, and broadened opportunities for students across academics, sports, performing arts, leadership, and co-curricular excellence.
